Even when you re paying good money for quality fonts you can run acoss some that the font designer did not take the time to clean which means ugly jagged edges for you.
Using the cricut brightpad is by far the easiest way to weed vinyl that s either super sticky or hard to see like glitter vinyls or holographic vinyl.
Before you unload the vinyl from your machine take your weeding tool and try to weed a piece.
To use the weeding feature select the object you want to add a weeding border and lines to and then choose weeding from under the effects menu.
You can add these in the design stage as extra cut lines that go from your design to the edge of the vinyl.
Weeding means to remove any of the vinyl that you don t want including any insides of the letters.
Adjust your force with a test cut.
Cut a box around each word or letter so that you can work on pulling up one section of vinyl at a time.
On the silhouette cut page scroll down to the cut settings.
They then pull up the box around the image and continue to weed from there.
The pro version of sure cuts a lot has a feature to add a weeding border and lines to help remove the excess vinyl from in between and around your design.
Make sure you have the right type of vinyl selected and hit send.
Or after your design is machine cut you can take an x acto knife and hand cut weeding lines around your lettering.

If it is not necessarily pulling up the design but still difficult to weed you may have cut too deep.
If it comes up easily you re good to unload and continue weeding.
Load your vinyl into your cutting machine.
This will push the edges of the cut vinyl down into the liner making it more difficult to weed.
Some people prefer to add a weeding box around their image when they cut.
Cut with the carrier side down and the adhesive side up when working with heat transfer vinyl the shiny side of the material always goes face down for cutting.
