To get clean cuts for small designs you need a very sharp blade.
Cut vinyl and the letters are getting lifted.
They are actually pretty awesome.
Fig 1 shows the edge lifting of this graphic with the standard 45 blade.
But when the objects being cut get very small weeding can become a problem.
Cutting vinyl with the silhouette cameo or portrait is arguably easier than cutting anything else on the machine.
The vinyl letters are cut on the front of the sheet while the backing paper is not cut.
If you have tried everything above and your cutting issue is still not resolved contact cricut support.
The angle of the blade goes into the vinyl at a slightly different angle than the regular silhouette ratchet blade or auto blade which again prevents the vinyl from being torn.
An example is small lettering if the letter heights get into the 1 4 inch range the letters want to lift with the weeded vinyl.
Intricate designs are very hard on a dull blade.
Use a sticky mat.
Place transfer tape or masking tape over the vinyl word.
You want to first start by making sure you have the proper type of vinyl that in and of itself can be overwhelming.
Do not remove the letters from the backing paper.
Make sure your cutting mat is pretty sticky when place the vinyl on it to cut.
If using a cricut explore air 2 or cricut maker in fast mode turn fast mode off and attempt your cut again.
If cutting a simple image resolves the issue try cutting the more intricate image using the custom setting for cardstock intricate cuts.
Peel away all of the extra vinyl from around the letters.
Vinyl lettering includes lettering numbering or shapes that are individually cut out from a sheet of solid colored 2 mil vinyl and then pre spaced and placed onto pre masked transfer tape the number of transfer tape sheets used will depend on the size of your vinyl lettering and amount of colors used.
But a serif or filigree on a 1 2 tall letter may only be 1 16 of an inch tall.
If you are cutting an image which is very intricate or small try cutting a simpler or larger.
You cut out a very intricate lettering design but when you are weeding it the letters will not stay on the backing paper and lift when pulling the negative vinyl away.
This was cut on a vinyl express qe6000 which has a high quality digital servo motor and cuts fine detail with amazing precision.
