Dark Spots On White Carpet

Blot the area with a rag dipped in nail polish remover. Follow the steps below to remove the tough carpet stains caused by the colored beverage. I have some dark grayish spots appearing on the tan carpet in my living room see pic. Vacuum before the pieces soften and blot the carpet with a white towel.

To rid your carpet of foul smells first blot any strongly affected spots with a damp cloth. I don t recall this spot encountering any particular moisture so i m not sure what could be causing the spots. Sponge with cold water and blot dry. Next spray or blot with a solution of one part white vinegar to one part water.

The whole process definitely took longer than the post suggested but once the carpet was dry the dark spots were gone. First always gently blot the stain with a dry white towel. With some small adjustments this getcleaningdone post definitely works. Using a clean white cloth sponge the stain with the mixture applying a little bit at a time and blotting frequently with a dry cloth until the stain disappears.

Absorb as much as possible with white towels then blot with a damp cool cloth.
